Responsibilities will include oversight of all job and work related safety and training. The Director of Safety and Compliance will ensure that safety and compliance protocols are being implemented, followed, reported, and enforced throughout the organization.

Essential Job Functions:

• Perform/oversee new hire orientation program, hazard awareness and all other safety related training as required.
• Issuing, tracking and ensuring proper use of all Personal Protective Equipment.
• Develop and maintain safety culture throughout the organization.
• Create, update, maintain and enforce corporate safety manual.
• Develop, oversee and enforce safety inspection program for field.
• Assist field foreman and superintendents with safety audits and site inspections, compliance and QA/QC audits.

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction/Safety Management preferred.
• 7+ years of construction safety experience.
• OSHA 30 and train the trainer qualified.

New York Gas Operations Manager

This position will entail direct supervision and management of our Upstate New York Division. Responsibilities will include oversight of construction activities, coordination of work and work schedule, interaction, cooperation and relationship building with client, ensuring safety and compliance protocols are being followed, reporting, and other related duties.
Additional duties will include:

• Plan, organize and manage the gas construction field construction work through coordination and scheduling with others.
• Supervise and oversee construction crews in the field.
• Supervise total effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
• Ensure the work performed complies with all specifications and requirements of the contract documents.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and Company work rules and procedures.
• Ensure that all permits and excavation notices have been received as required for the movement of equipment, opening of street, dig safe, etc.
• Develop and implement work schedules identifying the critical path including the expediting of scheduled critical materials and equipment for their timely delivery to site.
• Schedule and dispatch field employees and sub-contractors for most efficient use of labor, equipment and materials.
• Plan, coordinate and supervise on-site and emergency job junctions (scheduling, material control, personnel and may provide day-to-day direction) in order to complete the work on time, within budget, and to quality specified.
• Supervise and provide leadership to field personnel and ensure all on-site personnel comply with project procedures, safety programs, requirements, work rules, etc. Document all violations, notify project management, and implement corrective action.
• Maintain accurate time and material records and complete client paperwork as required. Time sheets, work orders, billing descriptions, project reports, etc.
• Make recommendations on the hiring, termination, and discipline of field employees and implement training programs.

Qualifications

• Shovel bituminous concrete (asphalt) into construction area.
• Fine grade fill to grades given by foreman.
• Assist in patching asphalt with hot and cold mix. Excavate and fills trenches and ditches.
• Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards.
• Material handling and storage.
• Load and unload trucks and haul and hoist materials.
• Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Bring problems to the attention of the Foreman, Safety Director or HR Manager.

Education and Experience:

• Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work.

AGI Construction is a Rhode Island based gas utility construction contractor expanding into Massachusetts. We are looking for qualified and licensed drivers/operators that are able to use a variety of contractor equipment and trucks utilized in construction of underground gas utilities.

Essential Job Functions:

• Operate trucks of various sizes and weights in the loading, hauling and unloading of various equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Operate skid steers, trucks and construction or power equipment, such as mechanized broom, backhoe, man-lift, dump truck, front-end loader, and hydraulic excavators.
• Work with and assist the line crew in digging ditches and trenches, hoisting material, tools, equipment, and any related work with a backhoe, road grater, or front-end loader.
• Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or repairs to supervisor; clean equipment.

Compliance Officer

Reports To: COO

Leads efforts to consolidate and standardize company operating and maintenance manuals, procedures, and material specifications. Enhances operational procedures, technical standards, and documentation to ensure safety, reliability and compliance with regulations.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Report to the Chief Operations Officer (COO) to provide risk analysis, coordinate and propose risk mitigation strategies.
• Assist in the development of our gas operations training school’s curriculum.
• Ensure compliance with client Operation Manuals (O&M), project plans and specifications, as well as State, Federal and PUC regulations.
• Work with the COO, Safety Director, Superintendents and foreman to ensure safety, quality control, quality assurance, and OSHA compliance.
• Mentor, train, and develop construction personnel to ensure their maximum development.
• Review and recommend improvements to existing and proposed company field processes.
• Collaborate with the management team and senior leadership to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical discipline or equivalent ten years of progressively responsible experience in gas distribution.
• Fully gas qualified (Possess all Gas Operator Qualifications).
• Detailed knowledge of gas industry regulations including CFR 192.
